"The argent shadow takes wing, but this ill wind may yet blow some good to thee, if thou art vigilant."

There are whispers in town, and Baron Vandemir's servants are seen about more often... some talk finding other employment, others merely say they wished to be out of the house for a day. They are mostly poor liars.

OOC: Diplomacy or Connections to find out what's going on.

It seems that Baron's employees all received dire warnings that great and imminent misfortune was about to befall their master. "A swift wind of cold justice shall befall the guilty," and similar statements. Now, like rats, they are fleeing the sinking ship. Indeed, many express relief at finally having a prod to leave, so increasingly moody he has grown.

When piecing together the various reports and a lucky sighting of silver scales, the true nature of events becomes clear; the dragon means to attack Vandemir's manor. Should the Knot wish to warn their erstwhile ally (or simply have observers in place), they have only a short time in which to do so.
