These reports of discord amidst the perfect, iron harmony of the Nine are, of course, merely slanderous rumors.

I've found that the forces of Good are rarely politically correct in my game, to the point where some players question whether they are even good or not.

For instance, it is often horribly shocking for mortals to find out that 'being evil' is enough to get you hunted down and killed on sight when you are on the Upper Planes. That whole psychotic paladin thing with the detection power is SOP for a bunch of celestial beings. Not all of them, but a large cohort subscribe to that theory.

Just as Gygax intended. Reading some old stuff, including a forum post of his, it is interesting to see that he pegged Lawful Good as upholding absolute and brutal righteousness while NG and CG see mercy as a viable substitute, while aLfOH seemed to go the opposite way; having LG being a bunch of doofs who couldn't abdicate cosmic responsibility fast enough.
