Anthelme accepts it all with nods of comprehension, and accepts the duties given to him, though with the same traces of impertinence and irreverence he's shown already. He is definitely less... restrained, if not less disciplined, than Dostan was, and almost seems to be humoring Puella rather than truly obeying. One thing that has carried over from his former life, it seems, is a love of ale and (especially) mead, as well as fine weapons. He makes a grasp for Valeria's greatsword in the armory, then drops it with a curse when the holy magic rejects him.

"That is a profane weapon to you, Anthelme. It is enchanted by the Church of Mitra, your old enemy and mine. They hate you and your like, and so the blade also hates you and your like. Take up a weapon that will not bring their curse upon you."

Puella stops him as he makes his way out of the armory.

"Go to Captain Melrov, let him educate you further. I have too many other cares this day. But have you wondered about this?"

Her hand traces a scar upon his bare chest, a curious shape, like a sigil.

"You are sworn to me, and that oath to me is sacred, far stronger than just words. Now my mark goes with you and my eye may follow you, wherever you may go. Do not forget it."

A small smile.

"Perhaps you and the Captain will get along well. After all, he bears the same scar."

And with that, his new mistress is gone.
